Service Description

Prerequisites: Students and dogs must have completed Basic Obedience or Manners class. Dogs must be at least 8 months old. The dogs should be able to sit, down, stay, and pay attention to you when you ask it to when other dogs are also working at the same time. About Dog Agility: Dogs have fun expressing their agile nature and versatility, by following cues from the handler to navigate an obstacle course of jumps, tunnels, weave poles and other objects. It requires teamwork, training and concentration. All dogs—purebred or mixed, big or small—can participate in dog agility, as long as they are healthy. Taking agility classes is a fun way to enhance your relationship with your dog, learn new skills, and become a team. Plus, it is great exercise for you, as well as your dog. As you progress in agility, you will notice increasing confidence for both you and your dog. About the Agility Foundation Skills class: In this class, a variety of props (such as cones, planks, perches, wobble boards, ladders, hoops, and mats) that represent agility equipment will be used to help you and your dog learn the skills to be successful in all levels of agility classes. Skills taught include: targeting, circle work, rear feet awareness, cone work, walking on a board, balancing on a wobble board. All work in this class is done on-lead. This class can be taken as a stand-alone fun class or in preparation for more advanced classes. The class runs for six weeks and is limited to 4 dogs. Class will be held inside the training building. Owners must show proof of age appropriate vaccinations. Instructor: Peny Gallogly Please contact her with your detailed questions under the "Contact Us" menu item above.
